WVRHC Research Grants

To further the West Virginia and Regional History Center’s mission of elucidating the history and culture of West Virginia and the Central Appalachian Region, the WVRHC provides awards to scholars who wish to utilize the Center’s collections.

Research resources at the WVRHC include collections, databases of genealogical and primary source material, and subject guides that outline resources and research techniques for various subjects such as genealogy. Subject guides also include links to a historical bibliography of publications related to West Virginia, and an extensive list of websites related to West Virginia culture and history.

Research grants are available to help defray expenses of scholars who must travel long distances to use the Center’s resources in the course of their research.
