WV State and Local History
Visitors to the WVRHC can use our collection of multi-volume state histories, which provide extensive coverage of Virginia and West Virginia history as well as genealogy of selected West Virginia families. Those who cannot visit can access chapters scanned from West Virginia History: A Bibliography and Guide to Research, by Harold Forbes, a comprehensive listing of published West Virginia local histories, state histories, and biographies (through 1980).
