The West Virginia and Regional History Center is located at 1549 University Ave., PO Box 6069, Morgantown, WV 26506-6069 on the 6th floor of the Downtown Library at West Virginia University.

Parking

Parking for the Downtown Library is available in the Mountainlair parking garage, as well as in several city parking lots found around the Downtown Campus.

The top level of the Mountainlair parking garage is free on weekends. However, there is no free overnight parking in the Mountainlair, and parking in Area 9 (the lower level Mountainlair parking garage) is never available without a permit.

Accessibility

  • Several designated parking spaces for people with disabilities are located in the Mountainlair parking garage near the Downtown Library.
  • Drop off and pick up areas are located in the alley behind the Downtown Library and on Willey Street in front of White Hall. Patrons needing to use the drop off area in the alley behind the Library are asked to call ahead.
  • Entrance and exit ramps make the library accessible from both Prospect Street and University Avenue.

Other Travel Information

If you're traveling by air, the closest airports are the Morgantown Airport and the Pittsburgh International Airport. The Grey Line Bus offered by Mountain Line Transit Authority runs from Pittsburgh to Morgantown twice daily. If you are traveling by train, the closest Amtrak station is in Connellsville, Pa., located 37 miles from Morgantown, followed by the station in Pittsburgh.
